2021 Call for movies

The Institute for Caucasus Studies Jena is happy to announce its 2021 call for movies:

Are you a young or emerging filmmaker from or with relations to the Caucasus and would like to share your work with a wider audience? Then write to us!

As part of our initiative Cinema Club Caucasus (Kino Klub Kaukasus), we are searching for movies focused on (but not only) everyday life, social practices, labour, identity, minorities and arts in the North and South Caucasus. From October 2021 to Februrary 2022, we will monthly screen one of the submitted movies in the framework of our open seminar at the Institute for Caucasus Studies Jena. The screening will be followed by an open and moderated discussion which focuses on the movie and wider topics which are of interest to the audience.

If you are interested or have further questions, get in touch with Tamar Khutsishvili or Veronika Pfeilschifter (

We look forward to hearing from you!
