Caucasus Studies Library
We are happy to present our Caucasus Studies Library. The library has one of the most representative collections of publications focusing on the humanities research fields of Caucasian studies. The transformation of what was originally a rather sparse collection of specialist books into a solid specialist library is thanks to generous donations from renowned Caucasus Studies scholars such as Prof. Dr. Winfried Boeder (University of Oldenburg) and Prof. Dr. Heinz Fähnrich (former chair of Caucasus Studies, University of Jena). The contributions of contemporary representatives of the field should also not be underestimated.
This catalog covers only a small part of the entire book collection. Although the cataloging of additional holdings is progressing steadily, the new data records can only be added to the existing catalog with some delay. The next update of the catalog is planned for the end of 2026.
The library is distinguished by its large number of author abstracts ("autoreferat") (= multi-page summaries) of dissertations on linguistic topics. In the near future, a number of rare and valuable books will also be cataloged and made available to library users via digital copies.
The library can be visited during normal office hours of the institute after prior registration with Elguja Dandunashvili.
We look forward to your visit!
