The following rules apply to German citizens with a German certificate of general qualification for university entrance (= Abitur).
BA
Undergraduate students can study Caucasus Studies as a Bachelor of Arts minor (60 ECTS) in combination with any Bachelor of Arts major. There are no admission restrictions such as “numerus clausus” (NC) and no other tests needed in order to apply for the BA in Caucasus Studies. MA
At the graduate level, Caucasus Studies offer courses for the Master of Arts major. Students can choose between the full program (1-Fach-Master) with 120 ECTS or a Master with specialization in a discipline of choice (90 ECTS + 30 ECTS). Except for a university degree (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, etc.), language proficiency proofs in two modern languages and a letter of motivation there are no additional admission restrictions.

PhD
At the postgraduate level, PhD students of Caucasus Studies can earn the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Admission requirements include a university degree at the level of Master of Arts, language proficiency proofs in two languages (including at least one modern language), and a PhD Studies Agreement (= Promotionsvereinbarung), which includes a working plan and must be signed by the supervisor. You also need to register online through Doc-in. Applicants apply through the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Arts (= Dekanat). The Dean and/or the faculty will decide on the admission as a doctoral candidate.
